Rules

Conduct

  1. The archive is set up to allow both anonymous and signed reviews. We encourage constructive criticism, however the flaming authors will not be tolerated and may result in you losing your account. 'I think that this could be done better...' is constructive criticism. 'You suck...' is a flame. 'I think your story sucks...' is not a flame, as it is talking about the story not the author, but it is still rude and not constructive, and therefore not welcomed either. Be polite and play nice so that everyone can enjoy the archive.
  2. As this is an open archive, stories are available to the reader immediately after posting by the authors. If, as a reader, you come across an issue (e.g. rule violation, story not displaying), please use the Report This link and supply the story name, author and any other details that may assist the administrators in quickly addressing the situation. The administrators would prefer to not have to switch to moderated site; any assistance offered is greatly appreciated in helping keep this an open archive.

Submission

  1. This archive is intended to be the home Spock/McCoy related stories. Submissions do not have to be exclusively about these two; however, we do expect these characters and any relationship between them to play a noticable role in any story or series hosted at the archive. Spock&McCoy friendship fiction is very much welcome here.
  2. All submissions must be accompanied by a complete disclaimer. If a suitable disclaimer is not included, the site administrators reserve the right to add a disclaimer. Repeat offenders may be subject to further action up to and including removal of stories and account.
    Sample Disclaimer
Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. The original characters and plot are the property of the author.  The author is in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of any media franchise.  No copyright infringement is intended.
  3. Stories must be submitted to the proper category. If there is an appropriate sub-category, DO NOT add your story to the main category. The submission form allows you to choose multiple categories for your story, and we worked very hard to add that functionality for you. So please do NOT add your story multiple times!
  4. Titles and summaries must be kid friendly. No exceptions.
  5. "Please read", "Untitled", etc. are not acceptable titles or summaries.
  6. We currently allow images to be uploaded for use in stories. The maximum size is set to 400x400px.
  7. Correct grammar and spelling are expected of all stories submitted to this site. This is not to say that the administrators expect all submissions to be error free; however, the administrators reserve the right to request corrections in submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors. If such a request is ignored, the story will be deleted.
  8. All stories must be rated correctly and have the appropriate warnings. All adult rated stories are expected to have warnings. After all, they wouldn't have that rating if there wasn't something to be warned about! The administrators recognize that there is an audience for these stories, but please respect those who do not wish to read them by labeling them appropriately. Please note: Stories containing adults having sex with minors are strictly forbidden.
  9. Stories with multiple chapters should be archived as such and NEVER as separate stories. Upload the first chapter of your story, then go to Manage Stories in your account to add additional chapters. If you have trouble with this, please contact the site administrator or ask a friend to help you.
  10. As much as possible, spoiler warnings are expected on all stories. For categories with serialized content, such as series of books or television series, spoilers are mandatory for the current season and/or most recent part.An appropriate spoiler warning to place in your summary would be: Spoilers for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. DO NOT do anything like this: Spoilers for the one where Spock dies.
  11. All stories submitted to the archive must be your own work. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. If it is found that you have plagiarized, your account will be locked or deleted and you will reported to stop_plagiarism on livejournal - a community that maintains a list of known plagiarists. If you suspect plagiarism, please report it to the the site administrators via Contact Us. Should you are uncertain if something constitutes plagiarism or what you should provide to us to make you case, review the information provided by stop_plagiarism.

Submissions found to be in violation of these rules may be removed and the author's account suspended at the discretion of the dministrators and/or moderators.  The administrators reserve the right to modify these rules as needed.
